When God chose you; Loss was not a question, Love was the answer.This memorial website was created to remember our dearest husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and special friend to many Eugene " Gene" Benson who was born in Long Rapids, Mich. on April 4, 1929 and passed away on September 4, 2008. You will live forever in our memories and hearts.
A very special person in his great grandson Lucas's life, he will forever be remembered for tinkering on tractors in his barn or taking a trip with Luke to the Avalon for some "beer and wiswy". It was said that god needed a good tractor mechanic that was why he was leaving us. I believe he was tired, tired of fighting everyday. He had been through alot in the last 7 years most of which any "normal" person wouldn't have survived. He was always good for a laugh or some sort of worldly advice...maybe even a "war story" we all heard 100 times each; But we all seemed to sit and listen again. There won't be a day goes by that all of us wont sit back and get a smile on our face just wondering what you might be saying to us now. These are a few reasons why i feel he was so special to many people and will be greatly missed.
